01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

When late-night cravings call for warmth and spice, Hanryu Men in Yushima provides a welcoming retreat. The signature yukgaejang noodles feature a broth where fiery heat balances deep beef savor, making it equally satisfying as a full meal or a restorative finish after drinks. Diners can tailor the texture to their liking with four noodle options: thin Korean noodles, thick Korean noodles, flat kishimen, or Hakata-style noodles.

After finishing the noodles, the remaining broth can be transformed into a rich cheese risotto or zousui rice porridge rather than letting any go to waste. Beyond the house specialty, the menu branches into horjang noodles, gomguk udon, and chewy stir-fried japchae, allowing for easy combinations.

For a heartier rice dish, bowls like the negi harami don (skirt steak with scallions) and spicy negi kalbi don are hard to overlook. Many rice bowls and small plates are available in half sizes, making it just as practical to use the shop as an izakaya stopover with a draft beer and small bites.

The shop operates through the night into the following morning from Monday to Saturday, and until 8:00 in the morning on Sunday. Whether recharging with fiery spices or settling in with a warm bowl after an evening out, it remains a handy stop across late hours.
